Accreditation Instructions

Thank you for paying for CNU Accreditation. The CNU Accreditation program is designed to enhance the practice of New Urbanism and recognize professional excellence in the design of the built environment.

If your payment was to register for an upcoming CNU / University of Miami Accreditation Exam, you will receive an email from the University of Miami on the first day of the online exam access window with all of your necessary login information to take the exam. Please review the 2023 exam registration and schedule information here.

We recommend reviewing the following materials:

Charter of the New Urbanism,

New Urbanism: Best Practices Guide, 4th edition, by Robert Steuteville, Philip Langdon, et. al. (Ithaca, NY: New Urban Publications, 2009).

Suburban Nation: The Rise of Sprawl and the Decline of the American Dream by Andres Duany, Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, and Jeff Speck (New York: North Point Press, a division of Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2000).

You will receive email notification from CNU four weeks after exam access concludes regarding your accreditation status.

If you have any questions about the CNU Accreditation Program, or if you would like to learn more about CNU, please email us at [email protected].
