Filling the Gap: Building Affordable Housing Through Design

About: You’re invited to meet the winner of our Missing Middle design competition, Jeremy Lake of Union Studio. Last fall, CNU-IL launched the Missing Middle design competition to inspire new designs for high-quality and affordable options between the single-family home and mid-rise apartment in Albany Park, Lake Bluff, and Peoria. This August, they will announce the winning designs at a Think and Drink at the Metropolitan Planning Council with event partners AIA Chicago and Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago, and the Metropolitan Planning.

Please join CNU-IL for a panel with the winner from our contest as well the Disruptive Design competition hosted by AIA, NHS, and the Chicago Housing Task Force. Attendees will have a chance to peruse winning submissions over drinks and hear from architects in both contests about how they tackled issues of density and affordability through design.

When: August 15th from 5:00pm-7:00pm

Where: Metropolitan Planning Council - 140 S Dearborn Street, Suite 400, Chicago, IL 60603
