Open Streets Windsor

About: Open Streets Windsor returns this September to connect diverse neighborhoods and people across the community. As thousands have witnessed over the past three years, this free community event will see an updated eight kilometer route along Sandwich Street, Riverside Drive West, University Avenue, Wyandotte Street East, and Drouillard Road. The entire route will temporarily be closed to cars to reclaim the space for people and pedestrians.

Open Streets are unique events that have been held in over 100 cities in North America and involve the temporary closure of roadways to vehicular traffic, allowing people to use them for a host of healthy and fun physical activities like walking, cycling, yoga, dancing and fitness. MiCNU is a co-sponsor of this event, and board member Ken Acton will be hosting two welcome booths on the street to share resources and exchange ideas.
