About: The Placemaking Conference is a biennial event inviting students, advocates, professionals, and civic leaders to learn from leading experts on topics and techniques in community development. The event is held at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, and has drawn attendees from sixty Oklahoma counties and 14 states.

Placemaking in Action echoes the Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture mantra of “Design in Action.” The design of the built environment is of critical importance to the challenges facing our region. We act with community members to create places that empower people to advance the social, economic, and environmental well-being of their towns and cities.
